Pantone color of the year 2020 Classic Blue 19-4052

Handspun CLASSIC BLUE Art Yarn Beaded, Rose Sapphire, dk to Light worsted 247 yards - free shipping

This yarn is so rare and unique it is made mostly of Rose fiber it is very similar to bamboo in appearance and feel. It is a new cellulose fiber made from rose bushes, it is environmentally friendly, green eco fiber. I hand dyed this shade of blue to represent that special time of twilight. a shade reminiscent of the sky at dusk. It also has glass beads crochet into it.

Imprinted in our psyches as a restful color, PANTONE 19-4052 Classic Blue brings a sense of peace and tranquility to the human spirit, offering refuge. Aiding concentration and bringing laser like clarity, PANTONE 19-4052 Classic Blue re-centers our thoughts. A reflective blue tone, Classic Blue fosters resilience.

CLASSIC BLUE Art Yarn is a one of a kind yarn that I carded and spun. The dkweight varying to worsted weight yarn looks amazing in finished products! Handspinning and carding is a slow craft technique which results in the yarn looking very different from a machine made yarns. Coordinating hues in of Brilliant Blue, Royal Blue, whites, aqua, and black. Hints of Miyuki glass beads in blue. Firestar and Glitz create a metallic effect. This Yarn is soft.
Its made out of rose fibre 55% flax 10%, viscose 10%, faux cashmere %10, merino wool 5%, firestar 5%, glitz 5%. I would use this for projects close to the skin or outerwear. You can purchase this yarn at my store https://www.etsy.com/listing/797748199/handspun-classic-blue-art-yarn-beaded

Houndstooth Shawl with Optional Closure by Nancy Tranter a Closer Look at the Rigid Heddle Weaving Technique

nancy tranter copper houndstooth shawl

English Houndstooth, French "Pied de poule", Dutch “Hanevoet”is one of the most classic patterns for fabrics. Take a look a closer look at the rigid heddle weaving technique.

Whether on a houndstooth scarf, coat, skirt, purse, chair, blanket, or umbrella, the houndstooth never seems to go out of style. If you have it in your wardrobe, you will have a piece that will always be fashionable, at least in pattern. Although the pattern must have been known for centuries, it was made famous mostly by Christian Dior and is still frequently used in many variations. It is a non-exhaustible source of inspiration for fashion designers.I am using a 24" rigid heddle loom for this oblong shawl; however, the houndstooth pattern may be created in the same way on many other types of looms. You should only need to adapt it to your loom’s particular warping method. Weaving the Houndstooth is the process of creating a fabric from 2 perpendicular thread sets. One set is called the warp (vertical), the other the weft (horizontal). The weft thread crosses either over or underneath the warp threads and the precise about rule where to cross over and where to cross underneath determines the weave type of the fabric thus made. This weave is the simplest version of houndstooth – a 2×2. This size is also known as pinwheel and puppytooth. The addition of Reindeer antler buttons are supplies from my Sami bracelets inspired from Swedish Lapland.
